Aside from being a somewhat epic pimp of sorts, Catherine the Great was also essentially the Tsar of All Russias until 1796. After marrying the wimpy and Prussia obsessed Tsar Peter III in 1762, she and her probable lovers Aleksei and Grigori Orlov decided that she would make a far more badass Tsar. A coup was staged, and she claimed the throne, holding it until her death (horse involved or otherwise).
On that note; it has been decided that she deserves a captioned portrait. Enjoy.
