“My Grandmother’s family in the Rhondda did take a lot of trips to visit various people in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The always sent cards to each other. Although this card is not dated I am presuming it was after World War I. It is a card from my Grandmother (Flo) to my Grandfather (Richard Biggs) who lived in Treherbert, South Wales. It simply says “Dear R, We have arrived here. It is a beautiful day. Did you arrive at home safe. Love from Flo.” My Grandfather was a POW between 1914 and 1918 during the War. It isn’t lost on me when the back of the card also says “The Carlton Publishing Co., London. Printed in Germany”(via BBC)
